January 4to 13- EOC Testing for High School

January 12 - 2^nd Quarter Grades/End of Semester Grades Due in Computer

January 13- 2^nd Quarter/1^st Semester Report Cards Issued to Students

January 13- Last Day 1^st Semester Students Go Back

February 17- 3^rd Interim Grades Due in Computer

February 22- 3^rd Interim Reports Issued to Students

March 19to April 5- Map Testing for Middle and High School

March 20& 30 - Middle School Pass Writing Testing Grades 5 & 8 Only

March 19- 3^rd Quarter Grades Due in Computer

March 21- 3^rd Quarter Report Cards Issued to Students

Horry County Education Center's mission is to prepare students to return successfully to the regular school setting by improving academic performance, attendance, and behavior. Our goal is to establish trust, to provide experiences that enhance life-long learning, to build citizenship, to improve interpersonal skills, and to develop collaborative partnerships.

To have 100% of students remain in school until graduation or achievement of their individually prescribed program

To have 100% of students demonstrate positive self-esteem and tolerance of individual differences

To have 100% of students achieving at their appropriate grade level.

To provide presentations/consultants/counselors for training students and staff to assist in guiding the participants in making the right choices and realizing their own resiliency.

To assure professional growth for all staff members through a comprehensive staff development program.

To assure all students meet criteria in academics, attendance, and behavior to return successfully to the regular school setting.

To prevent violence and other delinquent activity by at-risk youth

To provide a nurturing environment conducive to learning

To provide on-going academic instruction to meet individual student needs.

To provide supportive academic and social counseling.To improve student behaviors to the degree that the student will be able to return to the regular school site for instruction after one quarter or semester.

To develop a personalized learning plan for each student.
